Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is a progressive, expanding specialty that addresses a wide variety of medical and surgical disorders affecting the ear, nose, and throat.  Our department features highly-skilled faculty members with specialized training in all aspects of our field. This includes general otolaryngology; otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery; nasal and sinus surgery; allergy and immunology; facial plastic surgery; head and neck cancer surgery; laryngology and bronchoesophagology; pediatric otolaryngology; maxillofacial trauma surgery; audiology; and speech-language pathology.  We take pride in providing outstanding patient care within an atmosphere that fosters both resident education and research activities.

Our residency training program produces highly-trained, board-certified otolaryngologists equipped to comprehensively assess and treat the following areas of the head and neck:

  • Face: including infections, malignancies, cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery, and facial reanimation following paralysis.
  • Ears: including acute and chronic infections, congenital and acquired hearing loss, audiologic testing, balance disorders, vestibular testing, and skull-base tumors.
  • Nose and sinuses: including allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, sinonasal tumors, and olfactory disorders.
  • Mouth: including infectious, neoplastic, and congenital disorders of the oral cavity and salivary glands.
  • Throat: including infections, malignancies, congenital malformations, voice and communication disorders, and swallowing and breathing disorders.
  • Neck: including infections, congenital malformations, benign and malignant tumors of the thyroid gland, and other neck cancers.
